  • Among future projects of German Soprano Manuela Uhl are 2013 Senta in a new production Der fliegende Holländer in Hong-Kong as well as concerts with Mahler VIII. conducted by Riccardo Chailly in Milan.
    2014 are scheduled, among others, her debut as Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier in Leipzig, Elsa in a new production Lohengrin in Düsseldorf, a new production of Braunfels‘ Der Traum ein Leben in Bonn and Der fliegende Holländer in Copenhagen.

    Highlights of the past few years include Kaiserin in Die Frau ohne Schatten under Ira Levin in Buenos Aires and under Ulf Schirmer in Berlin, Irene in Rienzi in Rome conducted by Stefan Soltesz, Senta in the world creation of Helmut Oehring‘s SehnsuchtMeer and Sieglinde in Die Walküre under Axel Kober in Düsseldorf, her short notice debut in the part of Ursula in a new production Mathis der Maler at Theater an der Wien conducted by Bertram de Billy, Els in Die Schatzgräber in Amsterdam, Senta in Berlin and Liège, Chrysothemis in Elektra Madrid under Semyon Bychkov, in Nice, in Munich under Kent Nagano, in Berlin under Kazushi Ono and in Baden-Baden under Christian Thielemann; the title role in Iphigénie en Aulide in Leipzig, Marie/Marietta in Die tote Stadt in Madrid and Palermo, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser in Copenhagen and – together with the role of Venus - under Donald Runnicles in Berlin, the title role of Salome in Berlin under Ulf Schirmer, in Montpellier and at the Wiesbaden May Festival, the title role in Beethoven’s Leonore in Tokyo, Kaiserin under Ulf Schirmer in Berlin.
    At Deutschen Oper Berlin she also sang in Alberto Franchetti’s Germania, in Zemlinsky’s Der Traumgörge, Agathe in Weber’s Der Freischütz, Freia in Das Rheingold, Vixen in Janacek’s The cunning little vixen, Nedda in I Pagliacci, in concert performances of Waltershausen’s Oberst Chabert and Danae in Richard Strauss‘ Die Liebe der Danae under Andrew Litton.

    Manuela Uhl studied in Salzburg, Zurich and Freiburg and started her career at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and at the Bühnen der Landeshauptstadt Kiel, where she had already the chance to sing important leading roles.

    As a concert singer she performed Mahler’s 4th and 8th symphony, Beethoven’s 9th symphony or Debussy’s La Démoiselle Elue in Tokyo, Munich, Baden-Baden, Rome, Los Angeles and Caracas, in Dresden, Vienna, Madrid, Cagliari with conductors such as Christan Thielemann, Antonio Pappano, Jonathan Nott or Gustavo Dudamel.

    With the Beethoven Orchester Bonn and Stefan Blunier she recorded Schönberg's Lieder opus 8, a recording of Mahler's 8th symphony under Jonathan Nott will be issued soon.

    There are several CD and DVD recordings, in which Manuela Uhl sings the main female part.
